Peaceful Bliss
The crisp lines of the stone work, contained flower beds and the tidy appearance of the landscaping is exactly what the client requested. The spaces are quite formal with plants held to their borders. The driveway circle area shows off raised stone beds and a tall fountain in the middle surrounded by colorful annuals. A stream bed meanders through the entry courtyard.
In the middle of the drive court is a standing stone fountain, Every year we adorn the fountain with Purple Fountain Grass and colorful annuals.
The Fountain Grass helps soften the standing stone and provide more interest.
The owner prefers a neat and tidy appearance and a somewhat monochomatic color scheme in some of the areas. The Plumbago has taken over most of the bed and is quite stunning as a mass. The fine stone work helps give the bed a crisp, fresh look.
The entry garden is inviting framed by Aspen trees. The space is cool with the sound of a cascading stream.
A delightful stream bed flows through the entry courtyard.
A bubbling rock is the beginning of the stream bed in the courtyard. The pool appears much deeper than it is. It’s actually about 12″ deep.
This formal pool side bed is adorned with modern and traditional Naive American sculpture. Notice how the grasses frame the area.
This is an example of a stacked stone driveway border with boulders integrated into it. Notice the Porphyry pavers for a driveway surface.
This is a good example of fine stone work. Notice the tight, overlapping joints. The boulder is integrated into the wall and anchors the corner. A sea of plumbago adorns the raised bed. The driveway circle pavers are Porphyry, which is a very hard, granite-like stone that works great for driveways because of its sturdiness
